Piscine Rouvet
Opposite the Parc de la Villette, and near to where Canal de l’Ourcq joins Canal St. Denis, this charming swimming pool is one of the oldest in Paris. Built in 1928, and renovated in 2004, it is now a distinctive and attractive feature of this locality, known as Pont-de-Flandre. Its public bathing facilities - unusual in the French capital - and its individual dressing rooms over two stories are also characteristic of the style of the famous Pontoise swimming pool in the 5th arrondissement. It consists of just one bright, clean and well-lit 33m x 12m indoor pool, divided up into lanes to accommodate lane swimming. Swimming lessons are available all throughout the year, and some aquatic activities are also on offer. You can join an aqua gym class - you just have to turn up on the day to participate - or a diving course, which requires prior registration at the club. Largely unknown to the public and mainly frequented by local people, it is ideal for those looking for a swimming pool which is not very busy. Make the most of this quiet haven of pleasure and relaxation.
